In this episode of The Interview Series, host Mark Faithfull is joined by Tom Warner, co-founder and CEO of Warner’s Distillery.

The gin-naissance, as some call it, has been dominating the world’s spirit industry for the past decade – driven by a rise in new craft distilleries, and entrepreneurs who want to change the way we make (and drink) gin. Celebrating its tenth anniversary in 2022, Warner’s Gin has had much to do the gin boom – reinventing this most British of spirits that until the start of the last decade had fallen out of fashion.

Based on a 200-year-old farm in Northamptonshire, in central England, in just a few short years Warner’s Gin has grown to become the UK’s largest independent gin brand, and one that has a constant, progressive focus on cultivating a multi-award winning product, business values, and nature – its land hosts more than 400,000 bees.

In this episode, Warner walks us through the story of how he and his then business partner decided to launch the brand; the influence of Warner’s Gin in revolutionising the category through its rhubarb flavoured gin (at the time, a ‘first’); the importance of balancing the need to do good with doing business; and his own personal tales of the trials and tribulations of entrepreneurial life.
